Spray painted Christmas baubles with stamp effect and color gradient

Many of you have old Christmas tree baubles that you have looked at year in- year out. They could probably use a new look and a fresh coat of paint. With MontanaCans METALLIC Effect Spray you have the perfect tool to create your own beautiful Christmas decoration in your favorite colors.

What you Need

  • Self-adhesive film
  • Scissors
  • Ornamental punch (motif of your choice)
  • Old or new Christmas Baubles
  • Plastic cover sheet
  • Thin protective gloves
  • Skewers
  • MontanaCans METALLIC Effect Spray in your favorite colors
  • Piece of Styrofoam
  • Hangers/ribbon to place the baubles in your tree or branch

Step 1

Cut a piece of the self-adhesive film and punch out the motif you have chosen. Tip: don’t take motifs that are too big! Stick the motifs onto the bauble or ornament

Step 2

Cover your workplace with the plastic cover sheet and put your gloves on. Take away the hanger from your Christmas tree ball and put it aside. Apply the bauble onto a skewer. Shake your MontanaCans METALLIC Effect Spray color(s) well for 2-3 minutes and apply in thin, even layers onto the object.

Step 3

To let the paint dry, stick the skewer upright onto a piece of Styrofoam. When the paint has dried remove the self-adhesive film motifs. Put the hanger back onto your spray painted Christmas tree ball.

For the Star Pattern

If you don’t like the base color of your Christmas tree ball, give it a fresh look with a Montana Gold line color before applying the MontanaCans METALLIC Effect color. To increase durability and avoid damage, apply Montana Cans Universal Primer before applying color and Montana Varnish after the applied color has been able to dry and cure. Please be careful not to damage your paintwork when removing your adhesive film motifs.

For the Gradient Effect

Only painting half of your bauble or ornament can achieve a beautiful color gradient. For best results allow your Gold line color base coat to cure overnight before applying METALLIC Effect color(s). METALLIC Effect colors can be applied wet on wet over each other.
