Materials Used
- Montana GOLD Line Spray Paint in pink and green
- Montana Crackle Effect Spray Paint in black
- Wooden panels (to serve as wardrobe)
- Screws and hangers
Pre-Treatment
Ensure the workspace is clean, dry, and free of dust. Collect your materials and make sure to work in a well-ventilated area wearing appropriate work gear like gloves and a mask!
Step-by-Step Instructions
Painting the Panels
Shake the Montana GOLD Line spray paints (pink and green) vigorously for 2-3 minutes.
Remove the black safety ring under the nozzle and start spraying away from the object to clear the nozzle.
Apply an even base coat of Montana GOLD spray paint (either pink or green) on the wooden panels. Hold the can approximately 20-30cm away from the surface and spray in a smooth, sweeping motion. Allow the base coat to dry completely.
Applying the Crackle Effect
After the base coat is fully dried (wait at least 45 minutes but no more than 24 hours), apply Montana Crackle Effect spray paint in black.
Shake the Crackle Effect spray can for 2-3 minutes. Remove the black safety ring and clear the nozzle as previously instructed.
Hold the can approximately 20-30cm away from the surface and spray in a cross-coating motion (left to right and then top to bottom). Ensure thorough and even coverage with the Crackle Effect spray.
Developing the Crackle Effect
Allow the Crackle Effect spray paint to develop and distress (crack) the base coat. The cracking process will begin to appear as the paint dries and reacts with the base coat.
The final look will depend on factors like drying time, temperature, humidity, and the thickness of the base coat.
Final Assembly
Once the panels are completely dry and the crackle effect has developed to your satisfaction, proceed to attach screws and hangers to the panels. These will serve as functional elements of your decorative wardrobe.
Additional tips for your painting project
Use a drop sheet to protect surrounding areas from spray mist.
