Tube Framed Mirror

A modern touch for your home

A simple round mirror can be easily transformed into a stylish statement piece with just a few materials and a bit of creativity. By using a flexible tube as a custom frame and adding a bold coat of Montana GOLD spray paint, you can create a unique mirror that perfectly matches your home decor. Let’s get started!

Materials You’ll Need

  • A round mirror
  • A flexible tube or pipe (from the hardware store)
  • Strong glue (suitable for plastic and glass)
  • Montana Universal Primer (optional, but recommended)
  • Montana Cans GOLD spray paint in your favorite color
  • Montana Cans Varnish for extra durability
  • Masking tape and paper to cover the mirror
  • Drop sheets
  • Gloves and mask

Step-by-Step Guide

Attach the Frame

Take your flexible tube or pipe and measure it to fit around the mirror. Cut it to the correct length and apply a strong glue along the edge of the mirror. Carefully place the tube around it, pressing firmly to ensure it stays in place. Let the glue dry completely before moving on.

Protect the Mirror

Once the frame is securely attached, cover the surface of the mirror with paper and masking tape. This will prevent any paint from getting onto the reflective surface during the painting process.

Prime for Better Adhesion

For the best results, apply Montana Primer to the tube frame. This will help the paint adhere evenly and create a smooth, professional-looking finish. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying color.

Apply Montana GOLD Spray Paint

Shake the Montana GOLD spray can well for 2-3 minutes. In a well-ventilated area, begin spraying in thin, even coats, allowing each layer to dry before adding more. Choose a color that complements your space and gives your mirror a unique touch.

Seal with Varnish

For extra durability and a long-lasting finish, apply a layer of Montana Cans Varnish once the paint is completely dry. This step helps protect the color and gives the frame a polished look.

Final Touches

After everything has dried, carefully remove the masking tape and paper from the mirror. Give it a quick clean to remove any dust or smudges.

Hang and Enjoy

Your stylish, custom-framed mirror is now ready to be hung. Whether in a hallway, bedroom, or living space, this piece will add a modern and personal touch to your home.

This simple DIY project is an easy way to upgrade a basic mirror into something truly special. With the right color and a little creativity, you can make a custom decor piece that stands out.

Happy crafting!
